Troubleshooting Not Powering On Issue on a Nexar Dash Cam
If your Nexar dash cam is not turning on or powering on, please do the following:
Inspect for damage. Examine the dash cam, mount, and accessories for any physical damage or signs of battery bloating.
Verify original accessories. Use only the original cable and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with your camera to avoid potential issues.
Secure the mount and connections. Confirm that the dash cam is securely attached to the mount. Unplug and replug all cable connections, making sure they are firmly connected.
For Nexar One: Ensure the power cable is connected to the correct port on the mount, not to any add-on ports on the sides, as this can potentially harm the dash cam.
Check the power source. Verify the power outlet is working by trying a different power source. If you are using the cigarette lighter adapter (CLA), check that it is emitting a blue light. (Note: The beam4 model is powered exclusively by the OBD cable and does not use a CLA.)
Test alternative power (if applicable). If you are using a Nexar Hardwiring Kit or OBD Kit (for models other than the Beam 4) and the camera isn't turning on, try using the original cable and cigarette lighter adapter, if available. Alternatively, test the setup with an extra cable or power adapter.
Charge the battery. Let the dash cam charge by plugging it into a working power source for at least 30 minutes, or by driving for 45+ minutes to charge the battery.
Power on the dash cam. After charging and checking all connections, try turning the dash cam on again to see if the issue is fixed.
