If your dash cam frequently falls off your windshield, the following tips and guidance can help you address this issue effectively and ensure a permanent hold.
Important: Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.
Remove the old adhesive: Use the prying tool that came with your camera to remove the old or used adhesive from the dash cam (or from the magnetic mount, if you are using a Nexar One).
Clean the windshield: Clean the interior glass where you want to position the mount using the lint-free wipes that came with the camera. If you don't have the wipes, you can use a soft tissue with a little dab of rubbing alcohol.
Dry the surface: Make sure the glass surface is completely dry before proceeding.
Apply the new adhesive: Stick the new adhesive pad onto the camera (or onto the mount for Nexar One).
Position and secure: Firmly stick the dash cam or mount into place on the windshield.
Before pressing it firmly against the glass, use the camera preview in the Nexar Connect app to position the dash cam where there is a clear view of the road and/or cabin.
The original adhesive is strong enough to support your dash cam so that it stays on the windshield no matter the impact. If you relocated the dash cam or it came off the windshield, you will always need to reattach it using the extra adhesive provided with your kit—do not reuse old adhesive.
