This article will guide you through mounting your Nexar Beam dash cam to your vehicle.
If you are unsure where and how you should stick your dash cam, see our suggestions below:
For road view cameras, behind and to the right of your rearview mirror works best.
Wherever you choose to stick the camera, make sure to install it in a place where it will not interfere with the driver’s visibility or safety.
Do not install the camera on or near where airbags may be present or go off. If you are uncertain of where your vehicle’s airbags are located, contact your vehicle’s manufacturer.
In order to prevent damage, do not install the camera on a sun control film (i.e. window tint).
Learn how to mount and install your Nexar Beam dash cam in your vehicle
1. Installing the cable, mount, and charger
Attach the Nexar Beam to the mount by sliding it sideways onto the rotating head and plug the mini USB cable from the GPS mount into the Nexar Beam's power port.
Plug one end of the long charging cable into the port at the top of the GPS mount and the other end into the USB charger. Plug the USB charger into your car’s power socket then Start the car. You should see a green light indicating that the Nexar Beam is on and a blinking blue light indicating it is waiting to be paired with the Nexar Classic app.
2. Attaching the Nexar Beam to the windshield
Pick an installation area on your windshield and make sure it’s clean. We recommend placing the Nexar Beam behind the rearview mirror. Remove the sticker from the camera's lens.
Remove the GPS mount’s sticker, press it against the windshield and rotate the knob clockwise. Set the camera’s angle and adjust the screw at the side of the rotating head to secure it in place.
Follow the instructions in the app to pair your phone with the Nexar Beam. Check the camera’s view in the app.
3. Hiding the cables
To install the cable neatly, start in the passenger seat. Gently pull down the ceiling fabric near the windshield, tuck the cable under, or use cable clips. Continue by feeding the cable through the door seal, behind the glove compartment, and under the floor mat. Finally, connect it to the USB charger near the power socket for a seamless setup.
That's it, you're all set!
