What to Do When the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 Does Not Automatically Start Recording

If you're experiencing problems with Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's automatic streaming and recording features, follow these steps:

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.

1. Ensure the power plug is correctly inserted into the power source

2. Disable VPN, hotspots, wireless Android Auto/Carplay, and security apps.

3. Verify that all required permissions are correctly set.

4. Turn off Low Power Mode (iOS) or Power Saving Mode (Android) in the phone's Settings app.

5. Background App Refresh should be enabled in the phone settings

6. In the Nexar Classic app, go to More > Dash cam and make sure the "Automatic dash cam connection" or "Auto start and stop" toggle is enabled.

7. For iOS users: Ensure that the "Phone's battery optimization" toggle is disabled.

8. Take a few test drives to check if the issue is resolved.

If the problem persists, follow these steps:

1. Restart your phone and Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2

2. Turn on the phone's Bluetooth and WIFI and wait until the blue light stops blinking

3. Turn your phone's WIFI and Bluetooth OFF and then back ON.

4. Make sure the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 Wi-Fi networks appear in your phone settings.

5. Perform a few test drives to confirm if the issue is resolved.

What to Do When the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 Does Not Automatically Stop Recording

If you are experiencing issues where the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 continues to record in the app even when you're done driving, take note of the following:

  • If you are using the cigarette lighter adapter on a regular powered port, the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 turns off after the car is turned off.

  • If your Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 is connected to a continuous power port, it will go into a sleep state after a few minutes of inactivity.

Please do the following to make sure your Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 and Nexar Classic app will stop recording when you're done driving:

1. Plug the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 to power

2. Turn on the phone's Bluetooth and WIFI and wait until the blue light stops blinking

3. Open the Nexar Classic app, then go to More, then tap Dash cam, and enable the Continuous power port or I drive an electric car toggle

4. Go to your phone's settings app, then enable Motion & Fitness (for iOS) or Physical Activity (for Android)

If you still encounter difficulties, reach out to our support team. Sharing the date and time of the affected drives will be helpful for the investigation.

How to Deal With Random Drive Recordings

If you're receiving drive-started notifications or hard brake notifications from the Nexar Classic app when you're not driving with Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the power plug is correctly inserted into the power source and properly connected to the dash cam

2. Enable the "Continuous power outlet" toggle in the app.

3. Turn on the "Motion & Fitness" (for iOS) or "Physical Activity" (for Android) permission for the Nexar Classic app in your phone settings.
