This article will help you troubleshoot in case you experience issues where Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's parking mode feature is not working or not activating.
Troubleshooting Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's Parking Mode Not Working or Not Activating
You can check if your Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's parking mode is working or activating by following the steps below:
Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.
1. Turn off Low Power Mode (iOS) or Power Saving Mode (Android) in the phone's Settings app.
2. Turn off the phone’s Bluetooth and WIFI settings
3. Remove the dash cam from power and keep it undisturbed for 5 minutes or more
4. Shake the dash cam
5. Allow it to record and shut down
6. Keep the dash cam undisturbed for at least 5 minutes, then connect it to power
7. Turn on the phone's Bluetooth and WIFI settings, and wait until the blue light stops blinking
You should receive a parking incident notification on your phone a few minutes after being paired or connected to the dash cam.
If the parking incidents did not appear on the app or the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 did not wake up after the shake test, please reach out to our team for further assistance. Sharing a video of the shake test with our support team will be helpful.
Parking mode doesn't work with continuous power. In this setup, the Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2 enters sleep mode and turns off 30 minutes after your drive. It wakes up again when a drive is detected. For parking mode to work, connect to a regular power port or unplug the dash cam after driving.
How to Retrieve Recent Parking Incidents If They Were Not Saved in the Nexar Classic App
In case the Nexar Classic app is unable to save your parking Clips, you can also get them directly from the dash cam's SD card (for Nexar Pro and Nexar Beam) or internal memory (for NEXC2).
How to Retrieve Parking Incident Videos Saved in Nexar Pro or Nexar Beam's SD Card
To retrieve parking incident recordings directly from the Nexar Pro or Nexar Beam's SD Card, do the following:
1. Eject the SD card from your dash cam by pushing it downward until you hear a click, then gently release pressure until it pops out of the port.
2. Insert the SD card into an SD card reader (available for purchase in any electronics store or use the adapter received in the package)
3. Plug the SD card reader into the computer’s USB outlet
4. Open the videos folder
5. Look for video files with a filename that ends in AU (road-view) and BU (interior-view). Those are your parking incident videos.
How to Retrieve Parking Incident Videos Saved in NEXC2's Internal Memory
To retrieve parking incident recordings directly from NEXC2's internal memory, do the following:
This option is only available for Windows computers
1. Download the Nexar Card Reader app to your PC and open it
2. Plug the NEXC2 dash cam into your computer or to an external power source
3. Connect your computer to the NEXC2 dash cam’s WiFi network. Look for the network DIRECT-XXXXXX and enter password 12345678 (unclick 'Remember this network')
4. Wait until NEXC2's blue light stops blinking
5. Double click the dash cam’s power button
6. Click “Connect” on the Nexar Card Reader app on your computer
7. Look for video files with a filename that ends in AU or AX (road-view) and BU or BX (interior-view). Those are your parking incident videos.
The Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXS1, and NEXC1 are the only dash cams that have a removable SD Card. However, the Nexar One and NEXC2 have an internal memory that is not removable. Do not attempt to remove the internal memory from Nexar One and NEXC2, as it can cause damage and void the warranty.
