Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXC2 Video Quality Issues
Updated over a year ago

This article helps you troubleshoot video quality issues in your Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's drive recordings like freezing frames, choppy videos, blurry videos, or skipping frames.

Troubleshooting Video Quality Issues for Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2

If you're experiencing video quality issues with your Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's video recordings, follow these steps:

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.

1. Check for lens obstructions, including the plastic protective film, and remove it if still attached.

2. Try adjusting the dash cam's lens angle by moving it up or down to have a better angle.

3. Inspect the dash cam's lens for physical damage.

4. Check if the issue is present both on the app and the SD card or internal memory.

5. Check if the issue happens both in the live camera feed and playbacks.

6. Try using a phone mount attached to the air conditioner's vent if the phone is overheating when driving.

7. Close any unused apps that are working in the background.

8. Disable WIFI-interfering functions like Carplay, Android Auto, VPN apps, antivirus apps, security apps, and hotspots.

If the issue persists, reach out to our support team for further assistance. Sharing a copy of the problematic recording will be helpful for the review.

How to Access Videos from Nexar Pro, Beam, or NEXC2's SD Card or Internal Memory

You can also retrieve Drive recordings directly from Nexar Pro or Beam's SD card, or NEXC2's internal memory by doing the following:

Accessing the Videos from the SD Card for Nexar Pro and Beam

1. Eject the SD card from your dash cam by pushing it downward until you hear a click, then gently release pressure until it pops out of the port.

2. Insert the SD card into an SD card reader (available for purchase in any electronics store or use the adapter received in the package and insert the SD card into your computer)

3. Plug the SD card reader into the computer’s USB outlet

4. A folder containing the videos on your SD card will show up - transfer all of the desired videos to the computer’s drive

The Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXS1, and NEXC1 are the only dash cams that have a removable SD Card. The Nexar One and NEXC2 have internal memories that are not removable. Do not attempt to remove the internal memory from Nexar One and NEXC2, as it can cause damage and void the warranty.

Accessing the Videos from the Internal Memory for NEXC2

The Nexar Memory Card Reader for the NEXC2 dash cam is only compatible with a Windows computer.

  1. Download the Nexar Memory Card Reader to your computer or laptop

  2. Plug the dash cam into your computer or to an external power source

  3. Connect your computer to the dash cam’s WiFi network. Look for the network DIRECT-XXXXXX and enter password 12345678 (unclick 'Remember this network')

  4. Wait until your dash cam’s flashing light is steady

  5. Double-click your dash cam’s power button

  6. Click “Connect” on the Nexar Card Reader app on your computer

  7. You can now view all the drive footage and recordings in NEXC2's internal memory
