Nexar Classic High Battery Consumption
Updated over a week ago

This article will help you when the Nexar Classic's battery consumption is too high.

What to Do When Nexar Classic Is Using Too Much of My iOS Phone’s Battery?

Nexar Classic's battery consumption can be significant because it uses settings on your phone, such as GPS, WiFi, & Bluetooth simultaneously during recording. Please check our guide and tips below to manage the app's battery consumption for your iPhone:

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.

1. Mount your phone or place it in an area away from direct sunlight and in a stable position to avoid overheating and overworking the phone’s sensors

2. Reduce screen brightness. Turning your phone brightness up will force your battery to work harder and create more heat.

3. Close apps that are not in use but are active in the background

If these suggestions don’t work, do the following:

1. Go to the Apple App Store, search "Nexar", and if available, tap the Update button.

2. Open the phone's Settings app

3. Change the Location permission to While using to further optimize the phone's battery usage

4. Enable Motion & Fitness under Nexar Classic's permissions

5. Open the Nexar Classic

6. Go to More, then Dash cam, and enable the Phone’s battery optimization toggle

Enabling the Phone's battery optimization toggle in Nexar Classic will disable the automatic streaming function and your drives will need to be started by tapping the Stream button on the home screen manually before you start driving.
