Updated over a week ago

This article will help you troubleshoot issues where the Nexar Classic app is using an excessive amount of your phone's mobile data.

How Does the Nexar Classic App and Nexar One Use My Phone’s Cellular Data?

The Nexar Classic app and Nexar One only uses your phone's cellular data in the following scenarios:

1. In the absence of an LTE or +Connectivity add-on and Nexar Connect subscription, when Clips are being uploaded to the cloud server

2. When watching cloud-saved videos in the Nexar Classic app while cellular data is on

3. During onboarding or setting up the Nexar One with the Nexar Classic app, to update the dash cam’s firmware

4. Downloading Nexar One firmware updates without an attached LTE or +Connectivity add-on and Nexar Connect subscription

If you believe the Nexar Classic app is consuming excessive cellular data and the scenarios mentioned above does not apply, please reach out to our support team for further assistance. Providing us with a screenshot of the app's cellular data consumption and videos saved in the Nexar Classic app will greatly help with the investigation.

How Does the Nexar Classic App and Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXC1, NEXC2, or NEXS1 Use My Phone’s Cellular Data?

The Nexar Classic app utilizes cellular data solely for uploading basic drive information to the Nexar Cloud (e.g., location, date/time, duration) as well any Clips generated during or after the drive. If multiple automatic clips were created during a drive, they will be sequentially uploaded to the cloud to ensure reliable backup copies.

If you believe the Nexar Classic app is consuming excessive cellular data, even without uploading Clips to the Nexar Cloud, please reach out to our support team for further assistance. Providing us with a screenshot of the app's cellular data consumption and videos saved in the Nexar Classic app will greatly help with the investigation.
