Unable to Retrieve Nexar Pro and NEXC2's Interior or Cabin-Camera Video Recordings
Updated over 7 months ago

This article will guide you in resolving issues with retrieving your Nexar Pro and NEXC2's interior or cabin-camera video recordings.

The Nexar Pro and NEXC2 road and interior or cabin view camera record simultaneously as you drive. However, the interior camera does not transfer automatically to the Nexar Classic app to save phone space.

To retrieve interior or cabin-view camera footage through the Nexar Classic app, you need to create a Clip while the phone is connected or paired to the Nexar Pro or NEXC2.

What to Do to Retrieve Nexar Pro or NEXC2 Interior or Cabin-View Camera Footage From the Nexar Classic App

After completing a drive with Nexar, remain near your Nexar Pro or NEXC2 dash cam and make sure it is powered on, then do the following to retrieve your interior or cabin-view camera videos:

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.

1. Disable WIFI-interfering functions like Carplay, Android Auto, VPN apps, antivirus apps, or security apps.

2. Turn on the phone's Bluetooth and WIFI and wait until the blue light stops blinking

3. Open the Nexar Classic app, then tap Videos

4. Tap the video you want to retrieve

5. Tap Create Clip

6. Tap the camera icon on the upper-right corner of the screen to switch to interior or cabin view

7. Trim the portion of the video that you want to keep

8. Tap Create clip to confirm

The Nexar Classic app and Nexar dash cam utilize a loop recording mechanism that automatically overwrites older drives to make space for new ones.

Alternative Ways to Retrieve Interior or Cabin-Camera Video Recordings

If you are still unable to retrieve interior or cabin-camera video recordings, don't worry. You can still get them from Nexar Pro's SD card, or from NEXC2's internal memory by doing the following:

Accessing the Videos from the SD Card for Nexar Pro

1. Eject the SD card from your dash cam by pushing the SD card insert in the upper part of the camera next to the “Power” button

2. Insert the SD card into an SD card reader (available for purchase in any electronics store or use the adapter received in the package and insert the SD card into your computer)

3. Plug the SD card reader into the computer’s USB outlet

4. A folder containing the videos on your SD card will show up

8. To locate interior or cabin-camera videos, look for files with filenames that end in "B"

The Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXS1, and NEXC1 are the only dash cams that have a removable SD Card. The Nexar One and NEXC2 have internal memories that are not removable. Do not attempt to remove the internal memory from Nexar One and NEXC2, as it can cause damage and void the warranty.

Accessing the Videos from the Internal Memory for NEXC2

The Nexar Memory Card Reader for the NEXC2 dash cam is only compatible with a Windows computer.

1. Download the Nexar Memory Card Reader to your computer or laptop

2. Plug the dash cam into your computer or to an external power source

3. Connect your computer to the dash cam’s WiFi network. Look for the network DIRECT-XXXXXX and enter password 12345678 (unclick 'Remember this network')

4. Wait until your dash cam’s flashing light is steady

5. Double-click your dash cam’s power button

6. Click “Connect” on the Nexar Card Reader app on your computer

7. You can now view all the drive footage and recordings in NEXC2's internal memory

8. To locate interior or cabin-camera videos, look for files with filenames that end in "B"
