This guide will teach you how to set up your Nexar beam's recording resolution.

How to Change Recording Resolution

Nexar beam2 offers flexibility in recording resolution settings, allowing you to adjust the video quality based on your preferences or storage needs. By default Nexar beam2 records videos in Standard quality.

Here's a detailed comparison of the recording resolution of Nexar Connected dash cams:

To change your dash cam's recording resolution on the Nexar Connect app, go to More > Settings > Recording quality > choose the quality you prefer. The next time your Nexar Connected dash cam reboots, the new settings will apply and your drives will be recorded in that resolution to the internal memory.

How Video Resolution Affects the Dash cam's Recording Capacity

When recording drives using Nexar beam2, your storage usage will vary significantly based on the resolution you choose.

Recording a 1-minute video in QHD resolution will use approximately 150MB of storage. In contrast, recording a 1-minute video in 1080p resolution uses about 60MB of storage. Note that this is only for road-facing cameras. Your storage usage will increase when you also use an interior-facing camera.

If you want to record more premium-quality videos, please choose a higher internal memory during checkout.
