Remote Live Streaming Not Working
Updated over a month ago

This article will guide you in resolving issues when the Remote Live Streaming feature of your Nexar Connected dash cam is not working.

Troubleshooting Remote Live Streaming Not Working

During remote streaming, your Nexar Connected dash cam communicates with the Nexar Connect app through an internet connection via LTE, so your phone needs strong cellular data when using this feature.

If either the phone, the dash cam, or both are in an area with a weak or unreliable internet connection, remote streaming may not function properly.

In case the live stream fails to start despite having a stable internet connection or cellular data, please do the following:

Ensure you're using all the original accessories that came with your Nexar One, Nexar beam2, and beam2 mini dash cam.

For Nexar One users: Use the original N1 mount and confirm that the +Connectivity add-on is attached to the dash cam.

1. Ensure that your Nexar Connect subscription is active.

2. Ensure the dash cam is hardwired or OBD connected, or if using a cigarette lighter adapter (CLA), make sure the dash cam is charged.

Note: The dash cam only charges while driving when using a CLA on a regular-powered port.

3. Make sure both your Nexar Connected dash cam and the Nexar Connect app are updated to the latest firmware and app version, respectively.

4. Perform a remote stream test with the Nexar Connected dash cam nearby and powered on.

  • Connect the dash cam to power and wait until the light indicator shows a solid blue/white light.

  • Turn OFF the phone’s WiFi. For Nexar One users, also turn OFF Bluetooth.

  • Turn ON the phone’s cellular data and make sure you have good reception and internet access.

  • Launch the Nexar Connect app, then tap the Livestream button in the app.

  • Wait 1 minute and see if the live stream will start.

5. If unsuccessful, ensure the dash cam is charged for at least 30 minutes (if using CLA with regular power).

6. Disconnect the dash cam from power and wait for it to shut down completely.

7. For Nexar One users, detach and reattach the +Connectivity add-on to the right side of the Nexar One logo.

8. Power on your Nexar Connected dash cam and initiate the live stream again by tapping the Livestream button in the app.
