This guide will walk you through setting up your Nexar rearview dash cam for personal use and pairing it with your front camera.
Installing Your Nexar Rearview Camera
1. Prepare Your Vehicle
Start your car to power the system during setup. Open your trunk and doors to make cable routing easier.
Don't forget to set up and turn on your front camera before setting up the rearview camera.
2. Assemble the Camera
Connect the suction cup to the camera and attach the power cable to the mount. Remove the plastic film from the camera lens to ensure clear recording.
3. Mount to the Windshield
Clean the windshield area where you'll place the camera. Apply the included windshield sticker before mounting it for better adhesion.
Then position the dash cam and rotate it to create suction. Tighten the mounting screw and adjust the camera to capture the road properly.
Connect the suction mount to power.
4. Route the Cables
With doors open, tuck the cables along your windshield and dashboard edges. Use the included installation tool and clips to secure cables neatly. Guide the cable toward your vehicle's power source.
5. Connect Power
Plug the power cable into your vehicle's CLA port. Secure the adapter with the provided sticker – add a second sticker for extra stability if needed.
Close all doors and the trunk carefully to avoid pinching any cables.
6. Connect the front camera
Turn on the front camera and open the Nexar Connect app on your phone. Follow the on-screen instructions and check that your rear camera appears in the app. You can also perform a remote stream through the app to adjust the angle of your rearview camera.
