Troubleshooting Rear Camera Not Pairing with Front Camera
Updated over a week ago

This guide will help you resolve common connection issues if you're having trouble pairing your rear camera with your front camera.

Your rear camera might not pair with the front camera for several reasons. The most common causes include power supply problems with either camera, the rear camera being out of wireless range (especially in longer vehicles), and interference from smartphones trying to connect to either camera.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Ensure you're pairing with a Nexar One (with LTE add-on) beam2, or beam2 mini with an active Nexar Connect LTE Plan

  2. Make sure you're using the latest version of the Nexar Connect app with camera pairing permissions enabled

  3. Check that both cameras are receiving power and are turned on. If your rear camera won't power on, please contact our support team via the in-app chat

  4. Try power cycling both cameras. Unplug both devices from their power source, wait until they completely shut down, then plug them back in. Wait 30 seconds before attempting to pair again.

  5. Attempt pairing through the app. Open Nexar Connect and go to More > Device Management. Select your main camera, then choose "Pair a new rear camera." Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.
