Accessing Nexar beam2 Drive Videos
Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to access Nexar beam2 Drive recordings and how to access them in different scenarios.

Your Nexar beam2 Drive recordings are stored in two locations known as "Residencies." However, no matter where your videos are saved, you can easily access them through the Nexar Connect app as long as they exist. Here's how you can get your videos:

Get High-Resolution Clip

The Get High-Resolution Clip button allows users to trim high-quality Clips from full Drive recordings even while away from the camera. This option allows users to trim a Clip with a duration that is up to 5 minutes long. To create a clip:

1. Open the Nexar Connect App

2. Under the Activity tab, choose the drive you want to save

Optional: Tap Cabin in the preview screen to switch to interior facing camera view

3. Tap Get High Resolution Clip

4. Adjust the trimmer to select the part of the drive you want to save

5. Tap Get clip

If the app is not connected during Clip creation: Your clip will be automatically saved to the app when your dash cam is powered on and in an area with cellular reception.

6. Tap Got it to return to the drive’s timeline.

Watch Full Video

This option will require you to do Direct Camera Access which will allow you to connect to the camera directly over WiFi, stream full-quality footage to your phone, and trim the relevant part you wish to save to your camera roll. Unlike the Get High-Resolution Clip button, the Watch Full Video button will allow you to download the entire video, both road and cabin view, without limit to the duration.

1. Open the Nexar Connect App

2. Under the Activity tab, choose the drive you want to save

3. Tap Watch Full Video

If not connected during the session: Follow the on-screen instructions:

a. Turn on the dash cam and the phone’s WiFi

b. Plug the dash cam to power

c. Double tap the power button

d. Tap Power button tapped in the app

Optional: Tap Cabin in the preview screen to switch to interior facing camera view

4. Adjust the trimmer to select the part of the drive you want to save

5. Tap the Download both views checkbox if you want to save both road and cabin views

6. Tap Download clip

7. Remain connected to the dash cam WiFi network until the video transfer is completed

8. Tap Done to go back to the Activity Tab screen or Open Camera Roll to play the video

Overwritten by New Recordings

Drives that have been deleted from the Nexar Connected dash cam’s internal memory are indicated by a greyed-out viewer with a slashed-out play button in the middle, with a message below that says “This video has been overwritten by new recordings. “Learn more“. In this state, the Watch Full Video button will be disabled.
