Setting up Parking Mode for Nexar beam2 mini
Updated this week

This guide will help you understand the parking mode for your Nexar beam2 mini dash cam and how to ensure it's working.

Your Nexar beam2 mini dash cam is designed to go into a state of hibernation by utilizing its sensors when your vehicle is parked and detecting impact while you are not nearby to provide around-the-clock protection.

How Parking Mode Works

Parking Mode in Nexar beam2 mini dash cams relies on sensors designed to detect impacts and unusual movements (e.g., a collision with your vehicle) and unusual movements while your vehicle is parked. Nexar utilizes these sensors to activate your Nexar beam2 mini dash cam in the event of a hit-and-run incident while your vehicle is parked or if there's attempted car theft. When such events are detected, your Nexar beam2 mini dash cam automatically powers on and captures a 30-second clip of the incident. This ensures that you have the necessary evidence you need.

How to Set Up Parking Mode

The Parking Mode feature will be activated automatically as soon as your Nexar beam2 mini dash cam is paired successfully with the Nexar Connect app.

How your Nexar beam2 miniswitches to Parking Mode depends on how it's powered.

  • If your dash cam is connected to the car's cigarette lighter (CLA), it will turn off and enter Parking Mode when you turn off your car.

  • If your Nexar beam2 mini is connected for continuous power (like with an OBD or hardwiring kit), it will switch to Parking Mode after it stops sensing movement inside the car, like when you've shut the doors and the engine is off.

To manually set up parking notifications for Nexar beam2 mini, do the following:

1. Make sure your dash cam and phone are connected via WiFi.

2. Launch the Nexar Connect app and tap More.

3. Click on Settings > Parking Mode.

4. Toggle ON the Parking Mode option.

In case you are not interested in this feature, toggle OFF the Parking Mode option in the settings.

Make sure you have push notifications enabled on your phone for the Nexar Connect app.

What is Parking Location Detection

Parking Location Detection is a feature in the Nexar Connect app that allows you to record and track the specific location where your vehicle is parked. This can be beneficial for various reasons, such as locating your car in a crowded parking lot or providing information in case of an incident.

To view your last saved parking location, go to the Map tab and click the location indicator.

What is Parking Mode Sensitivity?

With the Nexar Connect app, you can calibrate the Parking Mode sensitivity of your Nexar beam2 mini depending on your expected parking situations. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Nexar Connect app and tap on More.

2. Click Settings > Parking Mode.

3. Adjust the slider to choose among the Parking Mode sensitivity options: Low, Standard, or High.

What are Parking Incident Alerts

Parking Incident Alerts is a feature in the Nexar Connect app designed to notify you of any events or incidents that occur in or around your parked vehicle. You'll get parking incident notifications right away as soon as their details are sent to the cloud.

By tapping the Parking Incident Alert, you can view the video of the parking incident immediately.

How to View Parking Incidents

You can retrieve and view parking incident clips within the Nexar Connect app once your dash cam is powered on and you're in an area with cellular reception. Your parking incident clips will be saved to your Activity tab and labeled Parking Incident.
