Selling or giving your Nexar camera to someone else? You can easily transfer it to the new owner using the Nexar Connect app — no need to contact Support.
This self-serve feature is perfect if you’re selling, gifting, or replacing your camera. Once the transfer is complete, the camera will be unlinked from your account and ready for the new owner to set up.
Important Notes
Once the transfer is complete, the previous owner (User A) will lose access to the camera and all related data.
Transfers cannot be undone once completed.
How to Transfer the Camera (User A)
Open the Nexar Connect app.
Go to the More tab.
Tap My Profile.
Tap the three dots (⋮) beside My Profile.
Select Transfer the camera to another account.
If you have multiple cameras, choose which one to transfer.
Enter the phone number of the new owner (User B).
Tap Continue.Choose one of the following:
Transfer data and history – The new owner will be able to view all rides, incidents, and clips from this camera.
Remove data and history permanently – The new owner will start fresh with no access to previous data.
Tap Continue again.
Subscription Options
Depending on your subscription type, you’ll see the following options:
For Recurring Plans
Keep the plan – Stay in charge and continue paying for the LTE Protection Plan.
Cancel the plan – The camera will switch to the Basic Plan, and your LTE subscription will end.
For Prepaid Plans
Keep the plan – Continue paying for the LTE Protection Plan.
Cancel and transfer the remaining period – The new owner gets your coverage until the subscription expires.
Cancel completely – End your subscription immediately; the new owner will move to the Basic Plan.
💡If you cancel your LTE subscription before transferring the camera, the new owner will not receive a freemium trial after completing the transfer.
If data history was transferred, the new owner will only be able to view it through direct access (not via cloud features).
Accepting the Transfer (User B)
The new owner will receive an SMS invitation to take over the camera.
If they don’t have the Nexar Connect app yet, the message will include a link to install it.
Once installed or already available:
Open the Nexar Connect app.
A pop-up notification will appear with the transfer invitation.
Choose one of the following:
Confirm and start onboarding – Begin the camera setup process.
Decline transfer – Confirm if you don’t want to accept.
Not now – You can accept the transfer later. The invitation will remain visible under Device Management until accepted, declined, or expired.
4. Follow the on-screen steps to complete onboarding.
Note:
The invitation link is valid for 14 days only.
Once you confirm to decline the transfer, this action cannot be undone.
When the Previous Owner Keeps the LTE Subscription
If the original owner (User A) transfers a camera but continues paying for the LTE Protection Plan, the subscription will stay under User A’s account.
In this case, the new owner (User B) can still use the camera, but won’t be able to transfer it again until the LTE subscription is canceled or moved to their account.
