The beam4 Dash Cam

How is Nexar beam4 different than other Nexar dash cams?

The Nexar beam4 stands out with its 4K (road-facing camera) and 1080p (cabin-facing camera) resolutions and built-in LTE for constant connectivity. When paired with the LTE Protection Plan, you can remotely stream your beam4’s video feed and receive emergency alerts in case of collisions or parking incidents.

How does Nexar provide its connectivity?

The LTE Protection Plan is powered by a SIM card that operates on multiple carrier networks, including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The system automatically selects the best carrier network based on location and signal strength, ensuring reliable connectivity.

Does beam4 record 24/7?

By the end of each ride, beam4 automatically activates parking mode. Upon detecting an impact, the beam4 instantly begins recording. With the LTE Protection Plan, you can receive live alerts and remotely monitor the situation.

Can I use my current Nexar dash cam as a rear camera for Nexar beam4?

No, the current Nexar dash cams, including beam4, are designed to be installed at the front of the vehicle. We recently launched a rear camera; you may want to consider it instead of the Nexar beam4. Learn more about our rear camera here.

Can I upgrade Nexar beam4's internal memory if I need more space?

No, the internal memory of the Nexar beam4 cannot be upgraded or reconfigured. We strongly discourage opening the dash cam to alter the internal memory, as this will void your warranty. If you need more storage, consider purchasing a model with a higher memory capacity.

Can I remove the beam4 dash cam from my car when not in use?

The beam4 does not include a suction mount and is directly attached to the windshield. Frequently removing it can wear out the adhesive and may result in suboptimal camera angles and inconsistent video quality.

Can the Nexar beam4 withstand extreme temperatures?

Yes, the Nexar beam4 is designed to operate in extreme temperatures, ranging from 14°F to 140°F (-10°C to 60°C). Whether you’re dealing with scorching summers or freezing winters, the beam4 will keep performing.

What should I do if my Nexar beam4 dash cam is stolen?

If your beam4 dash cam is stolen and you have an active LTE Protection Plan, you can use the remote live stream feature to track its location as long as it remains powered on. Simply tap the Live button on the Nexar Connect app to locate your camera.

Can I use CarPlay with the Nexar beam4?

Yes, you can use CarPlay alongside your Nexar beam4. The dash cam functions independently and doesn’t require pairing with your phone for most tasks. However, you should disable CarPlay temporarily during camera activation and when using the Direct Access feature. After completing these scenarios, you can re-enable CarPlay and continue using it as normal. To learn more about using CarPlay with Nexar Connected dash cams, check out this article.
