Updated over 3 months ago

This article helps with troubleshooting pairing or connecting the Nexar Connect app to the Nexar Connected dash cams.

How Does Pairing and Connection Work?

All you need to pair or connect your Nexar Connected dash cams with the Nexar Connect app on your phone is to download the Nexar Connect app. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to get started.

Nexar Connected dash cams are referring to Nexar beam2 and Nexar One.

When driving, keep your phone's cellular data enabled and the Nexar Connect app will automatically record as soon as the dash cam is powered on.

How Can I Ensure a Successful Pairing or Connection Between My Phone and the Nexar Connected Dash Cam?

If you're experiencing issues with your phone not connecting or pairing to the Nexar Connected dash cam, here are a few things you need to know:

1. Use only, and all, Nexar-provided accessories that came with your Nexar Connected dash cams.

2. Disable wireless Android Auto or CarPlay, VPN, antivirus, and other security apps, or your phone's hotspot

3. The phone's WiFi, cellular data, and Location Permission(For Android) should all be enabled.

4. For iOS: Also ensure the Local Network permission is enabled upon onboarding.

5. Make sure there are no other Nexar dash cams nearby that are powered on

6. If the subscription is active, you'll be redirected to the "Let's drive screen". Otherwise, activate your subscription by following the steps here.

After checking all the settings and ensuring the conditions mentioned above, the Nexar Connect app and dash cam should connect seamlessly. Once they are paired or connected, you'll notice in the Nexar Connect app's Map tab that the dash cam status switches to Recording, indicating a successful connection.

Note: Once the pairing is done, you can re-enable Carplay and Android Auto and continue using them as normal.
