How to Change Recording Resolution

Nexar Connected dash cams offer flexibility in recording resolution settings, allowing you to adjust the video quality based on your preferences or storage needs. By default, Nexar One and Nexar beam2 record videos in Standard quality.

Here's a detailed comparison of the recording resolution of Nexar Connected dash cams:

To change your dash cam's recording resolution on the Nexar Connect app, go to More > Settings > Recording quality > choose the quality you prefer. How Video Resolution Affects the Dash cam's Recording Capacity

When recording drives using Nexar Connected dash cams, your storage usage will vary significantly based on the resolution you choose.

For Nexar One users, recording in 4K resolution will use four times as much storage in your dash cam. Recording a 1-minute video at 1080p uses 63MB of storage, while the same clip at 4K uses about 300MB of storage in your Nexar Connected dash cam's internal memory.

Meanwhile, for the Nexar beam2, recording a 1-minute video in QHD resolution will use approximately 150MB of storage. In contrast, recording a 1-minute video in 1080p resolution uses about 60MB of storage. Note that this is only for road-facing cameras. Your storage usage will increase when you also use an interior-facing camera.

If you want to record more premium-quality videos, please choose a higher internal memory during checkout.

How to View and Download Full-Quality Videos

To retrieve or view your full-quality drive videos, follow these steps:

1. Open the Nexar Connect app.

2. Navigate to the Activity tab and select the drive you're interested in viewing or saving.

3. Tap on Watch Full Video for the chosen drive.

4. If you want to view the interior footage, tap Cabin in the preview screen to switch to the interior-facing camera.

5. Use the trimmer to choose the specific part of the drive you want to save. You can also select the entire video.

6. If you want both road and cabin views, select the Download both views option.

7. Remain connected to the dash cam's WiFi until the video transfer to your device is complete.

8. Once the download is finished, tap Done to return to the Activity tab or Open Camera Roll to watch the video.
