Nexar One High Temperature Voice Prompt
Updated over 7 months ago

This article will help you troubleshoot your Nexar One when it keeps shutting down after you hear a voice prompt that says "Attention: Due to high temperature, your camera will be temporarily shut down."

What is High Temperature Voice Prompt?

The Nexar One comes equipped with a built-in temperature sensor to keep things running smoothly. If the temperature climbs beyond the optimal operating threshold (60°C/158°F), the Nexar One will do a smart thing – it will automatically shut down. This cool-down helps prevent any potential issues, ensuring the Nexar One always works within safe limits.

Keep in mind that during this cool-down period, which can last up to 6 minutes, the Nexar One will be inactive. But don't worry – it's just taking a breather. Once it's cooled down, it will automatically power back up and be ready to roll.

What to Do if Nexar One Keeps Shutting Down Because of High Temperature?

The voice prompt is a safety feature to prevent the Nexar One from overheating. Once cooled, the dash cam will automatically restart and continue recording your drive. If you experience any issues with the Nexar One due to high temperature such as frequently shutting down or it's no longer turning back on after cooling down, please follow these steps:

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues. Additionally, for your safety, kindly note that hardwiring the Nexar One should be performed by a professional.

1. Ensure that the power cable is connected to the correct port on the Nexar One's mount and not to any add-on ports on the sides, as this can potentially harm the dash cam.

2. Check for any physical damage on the mount, accessories, and dash cam, such as signs of bloating.

3. Allow the Nexar One to cool down for a few minutes until it reaches its optimal operating threshold.

4. Allow the ambient temperature inside the vehicle to cool down by simply turning up the air conditioner or opening your windows. This will help the Nexar One to reach its operating temperature threshold quicker.
