This article details the Speed Data feature within the Nexar Connect app and outlines the necessary steps to ensure accurate speed information is consistently displayed.
What Is Speed Data?
The Speed Data is a Nexar Connect app feature that is available for Nexar Connected dash cam users. The Speed data gives you an approximation of your drive’s speed based on the information gathered using your dash cam’s GPS data and is reflected on both Drives and Clips.
Where to See the Speed Data?
The speed data is shown on the video as a speed stamp, showing the approximate speed as you drive. It is also saved on the video recording after the trip. You cannot view speed data on the timelapse preview.
If the speed data in the Nexar Connect app is missing or inaccurate, please read this article.
How to Set Up Speed Data?
Here are some instructions to ensure that you’ll have speed data on each drive saved in the Nexar Connect app:
1. If your dash cam is Nexar One, please ensure your Location settings are turned on.
For Android devices: Go to Settings > Location > Location Services > Google Location Accuracy > On
For iOS devices: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > toggle on the Location Services option
There's no need to turn on your phone's location for Nexar beam2 users since the speed data is recorded from the dashcam's built-in GPS.
2. Disable your VPNs, security, or antivirus apps
