Keep your vehicles safe and monitored at all times with Guardian Mode. Designed for Nexar Beam2 and Beam2 Mini dash cams connected via OBD or hardwire kit, Guardian Mode ensures continuous security, even when the engine is off.
With Guardian Mode, your fleet gains:
Incident Detection While Parked: Automatically records and uploads a short clip when impact or motion is detected, so you’re instantly aware of what happened.
Video Evidence You Can Trust: Get clear footage captured before and after an incident, ready for review in the Nexar Connect app.
Customizable Protection: Set session durations from 12 hours to unlimited, and adjust sensitivity levels to match your vehicle’s environment.
Live Streaming Anytime: Check on your vehicles remotely with real-time video access, even when they’re not driving.
Guardian Mode gives you round-the-clock visibility and peace of mind, ensuring your fleet is protected wherever it’s parked.
How to Enable Guardian Mode
Follow these steps to activate Guardian mode:
Navigate to "More."
Select "Settings."
Click the down arrow next to "Guardian mode."
Tap the toggle switch to enable
The Guardian Mode feature is not supported on Nexar One cameras. If your fleet only includes Nexar One devices, you’ll see a message like the screenshot below and won’t be able to proceed.
When Guardian Mode is first enabled, it automatically uses a 24-hour session duration and standard sensitivity by default. You can adjust these settings anytime in your Fleet Dashboard to match your vehicles’ needs.
Note: Choosing Unlimited duration may increase the risk of battery drain or cause the Guardian session to stop unexpectedly. Use this option only in specific cases and after consulting our Support team.
Vehicle Status in Guardian Mode
Once Guardian Mode is enabled in your Fleet Settings, you’ll notice new vehicle statuses displayed in the dashboard: Driving, Idle, Offline, and Guardian.
Guardian Mode is available only for Nexar Beam2 and Beam2 Mini cameras connected through an OBD or hardwire kit. When these vehicles are parked and meet the required setup, their status will show as Guardian.
If a vehicle doesn’t meet these requirements (for example, it’s using a different camera model or power source), its status will appear as Offline when it’s not driving.
Note: When the Guardian mode is enabled, the map will show the vehicle with a shield icon.
Viewing Guardian Mode Incidents
All incidents detected while in Guardian Mode can be viewed in the Incidents tab on your Fleet Dashboard. From there, you can review the recorded clips and see details for each event.
Guardian Mode Email Notifications
When Guardian Mode is ON, you’ll automatically receive email notifications for any Guardian Mode incidents detected by your fleet cameras. This setting is enabled by default.
If Guardian Mode is disabled, these incidents will not appear in your email notifications list.
