This guide will help you set up automatic recording for NEXS1 and NEXC1 to enjoy videos available on your phone anytime.
About Automatic Recording
Automatic recording allows you to secure your drive recording to your phone so you can create clips even when you are not connected to your NEXS1 or NEXC1 dash cam. As soon as your Nexar Classic app detects the dash cam over Bluetooth and WiFi, Nexar streams video directly from the NEXS1 or NEXC1 dash cam to your phone.
How to Enable Automatic Recording for NEXS1 and NEXC1 on iOS
Activate the automatic recording feature for the NEXS1 and NEXC1 on your iPhone by following the instructions below:
1. Make sure your WiFi and Bluetooth permissions are turned on
2. Go to More > Dashcam > toggle on Automatically start streaming
3. Ensure that the Phone's Battery Optimization is toggled off
4. Go to your phone’s settings, click Nexar and enable the following permissions:
Notifications
Local network
Background app refresh
Automatic Recording will not work if the Phone's battery optimization toggle is enabled. You can still recover your drives after the trip by creating a Clip.
Enable Automatic Recording for NEXS1 and NEXC1 on Android
Activate the automatic recording feature for the NEXS1 and NEXC1 on your Android phone by following the instructions below:
1. Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth, WiFi, and Location settings
2. Go to your phone’s settings and enable the following permissions:
Location (set to Allow all the time)
Physical activity (if you have a continuous power outlet)
Notifications
Storage
Location permission is not required for automatic recording and recording for Android OS 13. Although, please note that disabling this permission prevents the app from creating map routes for your Drives, Clips, and 1-Click Reports.
3. Open your phone’s battery settings and disable or exempt Nexar from the following:
Battery optimization
Background usage limits/restrictions
Sleeping apps/Apps put to sleep
4. Go to More > Dashcam > toggle on Automatically start streaming
