Incorrect Drive Recordings Date and Time
Updated over a week ago

This article will help you troubleshoot Nexar drive recordings showing an incorrect date and time.

What to Do When My Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXC2, NEXS1, or NEXC1's Drive Date and Time Is Not Correct

Please ensure that you are only using the original cable, mount, and Nexar-provided power accessory that came with the camera to avoid any potential issues.

If you notice that the date and time on your Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXC2, NEXS1, or NEXC1 recordings are not correct, here’s what you can do:

1. Plug the dash cam to a power source

2. Perform a factory reset to your Nexar Pro, Beam, NEXC2, NEXS1, or NEXC1

3. Turn off Low Power Mode (iOS) or Power Saving Mode (Android) in the phone's Settings app.

4. Disable WIFI-interfering functions like Carplay, Android Auto, VPN apps, antivirus apps, or security apps.

5. Turn on your phone’s WiFi, Bluetooth, and Location (for Android) and connect it to the dash cam

6. Open the Nexar Classic app and make sure the dash cam status says Detected.

7. Do a few test drives to check if the date and time are correct.

This will only update the date and time of the videos that will be recorded after the reset. Previous videos will retain the original date and time stamp.

We recommend regularly connecting your Nexar dash cam to the Nexar Classic app in order to ensure the date and time in all your drives are always accurate.

What to Do When My Nexar One's Drive Date and Time Is Not Correct

If the date and time on your Nexar One recordings are not correct, simply follow the steps below:

1. Turn off Low Power Mode (iOS) or Power Saving Mode (Android) in the phone's Settings app.

2. Enable WiFi, Bluetooth, and Location settings before driving

3. Ensure all required permissions are enabled
4. For Android OS 13 users: It is important that you set the Location permission to 'Allow all the time' in order to properly record route or map information of your drive recordings.

5. If you have an LTE or Nexar Connect add-on, ensure that it's attached to the right-hand side of the dash cam.

6. Enable your cellular data and ensure you are in a location with good reception

7. Do a 3-5 minute test drive and check if the date and time of your drives display accurately.

This will only update the date and time of the videos that will be recorded after the reset. Previous videos will retain the original date and time stamp.
